COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

ALL-STAR SEEN EVENT

DFTW hosted a career workshop centered around sports and entertainment at a community center called P30. The participating students were selected by SEEN, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating events and opportunities for African American and Hispanic professionals in the sports and entertainment industry. Justin Holland of AE Five Enterprises, Adidas’ global sports marketing’s Pierre Jordan, HEIR founder Jeron Smith, and WME basketball executive Joe Branch spoke on a panel to the student-athletes offering words of wisdom and advice on how to navigate the industry.

DFTW AND ANTHONY EDWARDS PARTNER WITH AGAPE OASIS TO SUPPORT SINGLE-MOTHER FAMILIES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

As a heartfelt Christmas initiative, Don’t Follow the Wave (DFTW) and Anthony Edwards teamed up with Agape Oasis to extend support to five single-mother families in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Recognizing the financial challenges of winter, Anthony generously provided heating assistance for five months, helping to alleviate the burden of high heating costs during the coldest months of the year.

To further celebrate the spirit of the season, DFTW has gifted these families tickets to the Timberwolves vs. Golden State Warriors game, offering them a unique opportunity to experience the joy and excitement of live basketball. Adding a personal touch, Anthony met with each child, presenting them with signed jerseys as they cheered him on—a moment sure to leave lasting memories and brighten their holiday season.

This partnership highlights Anthony’s commitment to giving back and creating meaningful connections with his community, particularly during the holidays.
